Awards

Attention to detail at all levels of the construction phase has seen Hanham & Philp Contractors win a number of awards, as judged by our peers, in recognition of the high standards we have set ourselves.

Hanham & Philp received two Silver Awards at the 2016 New Zealand Commercial Building Awards. One was for the St Margaret’s College new Gymnasium & Auditorium/Chapel & Music Suite and the other was for the new Archibald’s Showroom in Christchurch.

Hanham & Philp received the highest honour when the Registered Master Builders judges awarded the Company the RMB Canterbury Commercial Builder of the Year 2009. This was awarded for a high specification, four-storey office building in Show Place that was also rated as Five Green Star.

This seemed entirely appropriate given the Company took out the inaugural RMB House of the Year Commercial Award in 2001 for its first building in the same prestigious Show Place Business Park, Christchurch. This has been backed up subsequently with further awards culminating in achieving a Gold Reserve National Finalist in 2007 for the IAG Centre also in Christchurch.

Hanham & Philp was also acknowledged by the Building & Construction Industry Training Organisation for the outstanding contribution toward training and qualifications delivered in house by our Company through the apprenticeship training scheme and also in relation to health and safety training.

ACC Thinksafe Finalist

In 2006 Hanham & Philp was one of four finalists in the Champion Canterbury Awards for the category of ACC Thinksafe Workplace Safety.
